How to pick a smartphone in 2018

Choosing a smartphone at any time can be a difficult task, and with all the great smartphones coming out in 2018,it makes this task even more difficult. There are those who don't have a problem though;they have sold their souls to Apple  and will continue to buy Apple's products, regardless of the price Apple is asking them to pay. There is also another camp of people that doesn't really care about brand name, provided they get quality. And there's the last camp:their phones are only for calling, texting and occasional browsing. No social media,no games, nothing.
From this simple illustration of people, the way you use your smartphone(or which camp you belong to) can greatly affect your choice of a smartphone. For instance, assuming I'm a heavy user(which I am,by the way),I'd go for a large phone(above 5.5 inches),a crazy good battery (4000mAh+),a meaty processor(Snapdragon 636-845) and of course,a modern screen since this is a 2018 phone we're talking about here. In other words,I'd either go for the Xiaomi redmi Note 5 Pro,Honor 7X,Asus Zenfone 5(Review),the newly launched Xiaomi Mi 6X,or any other great phone launched in 2018 that fits these specs. And for lighter users, the Xiaomi Redmi 5,the Asus Zenfone 5Z or HTC U11 Life. That's how your needs can affect your choice of smartphones.

The first criteria is your user type. For this cause, this post will be divided into two sections
-the section for light users
-the section for heavy users
For light users who don't need a lot of power and battery and use their phones quite casually as in no gaming or streaming netflix, the phones in this list would be cool for them. Phones in that list include the Xiaomi Redmi 5(from 54000 naira on Jumia),the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus(from 60000 naira on Jumia) and some phones from Elephone. Visit Elephone's store on Jumia for some phones.
Huawei has some cool offerings for the light user also, check out their store at Jumia.com.

The second criteria is your budget
If you're on a light budget, you can go for some budget offerings to be found in this link . You could also visit Xiaomi's store on Jumia. They have a large selection on Mi budget phones.
If money is no object for you, then you can buy any of these phones ranging from 300000 naira to half a million naira.(These phones include the iPhone X,Galaxy S8,Huawei P20 Pro,iPhone 8,etc)In recent news, the price of the Galaxy S8 has come down to somewhere around 200000 naira. Visit Jumia's store to find out more.

So,that's it for how to pick a smartphone in 2018. Thanks for stopping by.
