This thing has 8GB of RAM. Why?

Image
. Besides the 5.5-inch display size, the Nubia Z17 is equipped with a more powerful processor, has 8 GB RAM (there are two other variants with 6 GB RAM though) and is the first smartphone to be announced with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+, putting it on the cutting edge. Check out the rest of the Nubia Z17 specifications below. But,before that, why 8GB RAM? Is this a laptop,or do they just want to be noticed? Here are the 5 key features every 'great' smartphone should have(2107)

If you're conversant with this blog,I do this topic every year. I've only been around for a year(November will make it a year) and the reason I do this is to make phone manufacturers understand what consumers want. I do this every year because technology improves every day,and we need to keep up. Last year,I would have added 'a great processor' but even budget phones (think budget as in 60000 naira up,not 10-15k oh)have been able to give out great processing power(like the HOT S and Camon C9) for a decent price. So,here are the five key features a great smartphone should have: 1. A great Camera A great camera is a must have for any phone touting greatness. It's not about megapixels, I already stated that here . It's about the quality. Camera technology has been on a constant rise, but some OEMs(take Tecno Mobile for example) have decided to play the megapixel race and release phones with bogus megapixel count that don't offer anything far from good 8MP came

Why I love the Google Pixel

Image
There are many things that can make me love a phone. If its camera is good,my love is automatic. If its processor is good, ditto. But something about this Pixel phone made me love it right after I saw its first photo online. It's not the design, mind you. There is just something about it,I can't say what. This is my first time of using any phone made by Google(I have never used a Nexus,so sue me!)and they say first impressions last longer. Well,if this is my first impression of this phone, know that more pixels will be shown on this site. Here are the 5 features I love about the Google Pixel. 1. It's Design This is my first time of using a Google Phone, and the design of this one is superb. Many of you may not like the mix of glass and metal found behind the phone, but it's a great design. Yes,yes it looks like an iPhone(which phone doesn't these days?)but this design has something that iPhones don't. I don't know what, and that's weird. In fact,my feel

The REMarkable tablet is remarkable for artists and the like

Image
Sketching with e-ink is not really smooth. This is because e-ink refresh rates are generally poor. Sony tried to solve this problem with the Digital Paper, but this is expensive. The ReMarkable tablet costs less than the Digital Paper, though it is a bit chunkier. Nevertheless, you get a lag-free sketching experience. The ReMarkable tablet is designed especially for artists, and the various tools it has are mainly focused on drawing an sketching. work is synced to a cloud account across Android, iOS, Mac or PC. Furthermore, there is a feature that involves collaborative live-sketching with other artists. This tablet aims to solve these problems with a 2000 level  pressure sensitive screen and a stylus which you do not need to charge. The tip wears off over time, but you can totally renew it. The tablet’s tools allow for layers of cut-and-paste. Also, files can be loaded from Dropbox. Currently the company is working on cloud-supporting other accounts, and support for Office files

Essential Phone 1 is the phone to die for.....finally

Image
I don’t know about you, but the back view of the Essential phone (That is the actual name) looks gorgeous AF! I mean, look at this: The Essential Phone is a product of Andy Rubin, the co-founder of Android, it features a near bezel-less display that wraps around the camera to maximize the screen-to-body-ratio. It has always been my dream to sew a phone with the camera and screen in cohesion. If I ever get to test this phone(I do PRAY I have the chance) I will let you know the complete details. Trust me. screen-to-body-ratio. As for the build, it uses a combination of titanium and ceramic to further add to the beauty and durability of the device. On the specs side of things, you have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU, 4 GB of RAM, Android 7.1 and 128 GB of internal storage space. The display is 5.71-inches, with a 19:10 aspect ratio and 2560 x 1312 pixel resolution with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. There’s an 8 MP front-facing camera with f/2.2

OnePlus 3 Overview

Image
Please do note that this is not the full review. That is coming soon. Now that that's out of the way, let's get to the star of the show, the OnePlus 3. This is a phone which gives you literally all the current flagship specs for a fraction of flagship prices. The OnePlus 3 has -a 5.5" 1080p display -Snapdragon 821 chip -Adreno 530 graphics -6 GB of RAM(which is a total overkill) -64GB internal flash storage that isn't expandable -7.3mm thin body -3000mAh battery -just $300(150000 naira) These are literally the same specs as the Galaxy S7 which costs $750(375000 naira) so... Build The phone's build is too simple for my liking. No modularity. No curved edges. Just a 7.3mm thin frame with a little camera bump and a flash at the back, and then a home key/fingerprint sensor, Fingerprint sensor is in the home button front camera,5.5" screen, notification LED and dazzol. Very simple, not too elegant,buuutttt... It's bottom looks a lot

Samsung Galaxy S7 vs Galaxy S7 Edge

Image
This is probably an unfair comparison, because in design, the edge takes the cake. It's much more beautiful, sexier and has more curves. But that is the title of the post,so let's get to it. The S7 edge obviously inherits its name from the curved edged glass on either side of the display. This is cool and really adds to the overall look of the device. Samsung developed special software for it,and a single swipe can bring out an edge screen, where you keep your contacts, games, etc. Needless to say,the S7 has NO curves on either side of the screen,so this probably let's down its design in comparison to its elder brother. Just picture their comparison as comparing a sexy 4K TV to a modest looking 1080p TV. The FHD TV gets the job done, but the 4k TV gets the job done, and still looks good while doing it. Similar box design As seen above, their boxes are very similar. I hate keeping phone boxes, but because these are so costly:),I had to keep them. They may look similar in bo
